ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHY

HELLO!

My name is Lowen Hunta, and I’m a multidisciplinary artist, animator, and musician based in Melbourne, Australia. I have recently graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, where I studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation).

Throughout my time at university, I developed a love for creating animated documentaries (Hairy, 184 Cups of Tea) which have since been exhibited internationally. With the time I had to spare, I created graphics for various publications (Farrago, Judy's Punch), and co-founded a successful female four-piece band where I played lead guitar.

My current personal work primarily focuses on female-related identity, and issues in the form of 2D animated documentary, but I also make weird art out of clay sometimes. Inspiration for these works derive from anywhere, but admittedly, mainly from laughing at myself, and my misfortunes.
